As celebration for the new likes to my author page on Facebook (and because I’ve been kinda busy lately and have been slacking on Excerpt Monday) I decided to give a little taste of what I’ve been working so hard on.
Ava did as he said, sliding back down in the bed, and laying her head on her pillow. She was exhausted and for the first time in a long time, she actually felt like she would fall asleep if she closed her eyes.
He tilted his head slightly, his pale eyes seeming to glow faintly in the darkness. When he reached out and touched her again, Ava closed her eyes. He brushed her hair back with gentle fingers and as her body started to relax, he whispered, “Sleep, Ava.”
“I’m already asleep.”
He chuckled softly.
“Are you staying?” Ava asked drowsily.
“Would you like me to?” he whispered back to her.
“Yeah,” she said without opening her eyes, not only because she suddenly didn’t have the strength, but she didn’t want to have proof that he wasn’t really here, that she was only dreaming again.
You are not dreaming, amante.
Yes, I am… she argued. And don’t call me your lover.
Hope you liked it. 🙂
